Spinmaster’s Kinectic Rock Crusher Review
I was really excited to give this toy to my nephew who is 8 years old, I know that he like diggers and dump trucks so this set was perfect for him. When he got the toy he got really excited and started playing at once. He liked molding the kinetic rocks and then crushing them and pretending that he was in a construction site. According to him, the toy is great and he played for over 1 hour at a stretch with it.
But as a parent/ guardian I felt that the toy was really messy, the kinetic rocks do stick together but not like the kinetic sand. The rock pieces are bigger and the glue that holds the rock pieces together is not strong enough to keep them together when playing. When he was done playing, at least 2 oz of rock pieces were everywhere, on the ground and on the clothes that he was wearing. Getting the tiny sticky rock pieces off the clothes was the hardest part, as for the floor I was able to vacuum it clean, but some pieces I had to hand pick from the rag.
The box that the toy came in doubles as a play area too, it has construction site scene on the inside which really is great. But the rocks don’t keep in the area and falls outside quite often. So if the kids are going to play on the carpet, make sure to have something under it as it is hard to take off the carpet. Also when first opened the rocks had a kind of strong smell to it, which slowly went away over time. There is a tiny person in the box that looks like a LEGO human, but it comes apart very easily, which I thought could have been made a little sturdier.
Overall an okay toy, the kids have fun playing with and parents have a hard time cleaning after them.
To be precise the box came with the following stuff in it.
Disclaimer: I received the toy for free in exchange for my unbiased and honest opinion.
